About Spirit Square

Our real name is 'The Campbell River BC Spirit Square', and our construction was completed in the fall of 2009, just in time to celebrate the Cross-Canada Olympic torch relay.

The Square was dedicated as "a legacy of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia", with funding contributions from the Province of British Columbia, the City of Campbell River and the Island Coastal Economic Trust.

SPIRIT SQUARE is owned by the City of Campbell River and it is managed by contract through the Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture.

Spirit Square is currently managed by Lucas Schuller and Highway 19 Concert Society.
